Create the Wedding You Truly Want.
Intentional Ceremony Creation and Officiating
“I don’t think there are enough words to thank Mick. We met once, and somehow, you saw us. You took everything we shared and turned it into a ceremony that felt so deeply, unmistakably ours. There wasn’t a dry eye in the crowd. The way you spoke about our love, the way you held the space, the care and intention behind every word… it was beyond anything we could have imagined. And turning our quiet, little three-tap “I love you” into something so beautiful and meaningful? I’ll carry that moment with me forever. We walked away from that first meeting feeling like we had made a new friend—and after the ceremony, we know we did. Thank you for giving us a beginning that felt so honest, so emotional, and so completely us.
A Very Big Hello!
Howdy! My name is Mick. I’m a Denver based poet, artist, and celebrant. I took over NearlyWed Coaching in 2025 with the support of it’s founder, Tirzah Stein.
I’ve always loved any opportunity to celebrate. I’m the youngest of 3 and in my family, and it’s well known that I am the carrier of tradition. I was the first to get up on Christmas morning, the last to go to sleep on New Year’s, and always an absolute sucker for a themed craft. As I grew up and departed from the faith framework of my youth, I grappled with the implications of inherited tradition. As my values and identity shifted, I could no longer hold, with sincerity, everything that was handed to me. So, I didn’t. I reimagined my life, values, community, artistic style, aesthetic expression, and pace. I accepted the honest and loving bits, and released the rest.
That is my work in this life: to sit in that tension between inheritance and possibility, and reimagine in the direction of love. That is also what I nurture and explore with everyone I work with at Nearlywed Coaching. Especially for folks who don’t find comfort and support in traditional spaces, we will co-create sincere and supportive ceremonies together. Everyone deserves thoughtful, authentic, and honest celebration on their wedding day (and every day!).
Outside of my work as a job coach for folks with disabilities, I adore writing, dancing, anything outdoors, painting, home cooked meals, long hugs, abolition politics, growing food, spending time with people I love, afternoons in the park, and reading. Long-term, I dream of expanding NearlyWed Coaching to offer thoughtful facilitation of various transitions/rituals/gatherings. But for now, cheers to the nearly weds!
